Ways to give

Choose where your money works.

Two places your gift can go, and every other way to give it: by bank transfer or in your will.

Designated gifts

The programme or area of work you choose

Donors have the opportunity to direct their gift to a specific programme or area of work that aligns with their philanthropic interests. Whether supporting education, humanitarian response, girls’ leadership, climate resilience, or another priority initiative, your contribution can be designated to help advance the outcomes that matter most to you. We agree the designation with you in a first conversation, and if the programme you chose ever cannot use your gift, we ask you before it goes anywhere else.

Our Leadership Programmes

Global Youth Ambassadors and Champions of Change.

  • Global Youth Ambassadors

This three-year Global Youth Ambassadors programme facilitates passionate young changemakers with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to drive impact locally and globally. Each year, new ambassadors aged 15–25 join a dynamic network that connects them with peers from around the world. Through (bi-)weekly online meetings, they strengthen their advocacy capacity and build practical knowledge on rights, media, and project cycle management. They also participate in advocacy spaces and events, including UN-level opportunities. Alongside this, ambassadors develop and implement their own local advocacy projects, contribute to social accountability, and take part in youth-led monitoring and evaluation to reflect on progress and showcase the impact of their work.

  • Champions of Change

Champions of Change provides girls and boys with safe, supportive spaces where they can build resilience, develop self-confidence, and find hope amid uncertainty. The programme empowers young people with the knowledge, leadership skills, and sense of purpose needed to cope with the challenges of conflict and become agents of positive change in their communities. Through meaningful opportunities for learning, peer support, and civic engagement, participants strengthen their belief in their potential and ability to influence the future. The programme supports girls and boys on distinct yet interconnected journeys: girls strengthen their self-esteem, understand their rights, and build collective power, while boys learn to challenge harmful stereotypes, embrace gender equality, and model positive masculinities.

A monthly gift

Income the programmes can plan against.

Why monthly

Keeping a girl learning is a promise made over years, not one term, and a gift paid across the year matches the shape of that work.

Each month

Your gift goes to the designation you chose, every month. For a gift by card, a receipt for each payment is sent to the email address you gave.

Changing it

A monthly gift is never a commitment to keep giving. For a gift by card, write to info@globalgirlsfoundation.org and we change or stop it from the next payment. A monthly gift by bank transfer is a standing order from your own bank: you change or stop it with your bank, because we cannot do it for you. If a payment went through that should not have, write to the same address and a person will put it right.

In your will

Costs nothing now. Can be your largest gift.

The gift
Decided now, given later.

It costs nothing in your lifetime and is decided entirely on your terms: the size is yours to set, and it can be changed later. Nobody at the Foundation needs to know unless you want them to.

The endowment
Never spent, if you choose.

A gift in your will can join the Foundation’s endowment, where the capital is kept and invested and what it earns funds girls every year. How it is held is agreed in writing with you or your executor.

How the endowment works
The wording
What to put in the will.

Legal name: Global Girls Foundation, a Swiss foundation (Stiftung) established by public deed on 15 September 2022 and entered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Zurich on 30 September 2022. UID CHE-347.920.926, registered office Badenerstrasse 580, 8048 Zurich, Switzerland. A form of words your adviser can adapt: “I give to Global Girls Foundation, a Swiss foundation with its seat in Zurich (UID CHE-347.920.926; Badenerstrasse 580, 8048 Zurich, Switzerland), [the sum of CHF … / the following asset: …], to be used for its charitable purpose.”

Note: A suggestion for your adviser, not legal advice. In Switzerland a will must be written entirely by hand, dated and signed, or made before a notary; a typed or printed copy of these words is not a valid will. Your adviser will also check what the law reserves for your heirs.

Asked and answered

The practical questions.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, if you pay tax in Switzerland, within the legal limits. The Foundation is tax exempt for its public benefit and is on the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office’s list of institutions exempt for public or charitable purposes. Your gifts are deductible from the direct federal tax if they total at least CHF 100 in the tax year, up to 20 per cent of your net income (Art. 33a of the Federal Direct Tax Act). Zurich applies the same limits to cantonal tax; other cantons set their own. Keep your receipts: your tax return lists each gift. A company taxed in Switzerland can deduct gifts up to 20 per cent of its net profit (Art. 59(1)(c) of the Federal Direct Tax Act). Outside Switzerland, a gift to a Swiss foundation is generally not tax-deductible; ask your adviser, and ask us before you give whether a route exists for your country. We do not give tax advice.

Which currencies can I give in, and how?

By bank transfer to the Foundation’s UBS accounts in Swiss francs, euros and US dollars, with the SWIFT code, as set out on this site’s Give page. Or through the Give now button, with the card and wallet methods Stripe offers at checkout, in Swiss francs, euros or US dollars, monthly or once. You type the amount you wish to give. A gift by card or wallet can be up to 999,999.99 in the currency you choose, though your card’s own limit may be lower. Above that, or whenever you prefer, the Give now panel shows the Foundation’s bank details, and you pay by transfer from your own bank. The Annual Giving Fund begins with a conversation.
