We believe in being open, honest and accountable with our partners, those we work with and the children and programme participants we serve.

Global Girls Foundation’s work isn’t possible without the generous support of our partners.

We ensure that all investments and endowments to Global Girls Foundation are used to finance long-term sustainable solutions that contribute to the advancement of girls’ rights and gender equality. 

The capital of the Global Girls Foundation is invested according to ESG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria guidelines and the Sustainable Development Goals.

We are recognised as a non-profit organisation by the judicial authority of the Canton of Zurich under the Swiss Civil Code and by the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office and are tax exempt due to our benefit to the public.

You will receive a receipt for all donations, investments and endowments to Global Girls Foundation.

Investment guidelines

The Global Girls Foundation board ensures that all investments follow the guidelines of the Global Girls Foundation investment strategy.

The Global Girls Foundation investment strategy states that all investments and investment decisions must:

  • Uphold sustainability, social responsibility and ethical standards.
  • Help the Global Girls Foundation fulfil its purpose.
  • Limit the risk of loss.
  • Be managed in a cautious way that preserves the Global Girls Foundation’s assets.

Our board’s responsibilities include overseeing strategy, managing investment decisions and ensuring the foundation fulfils its purpose and complies with legal obligations.

Our origin

The Global Girls Foundation was established on September 15, 2022 by public deed and registered with the Commercial Register of the canton of Zurich on September 30, 2022.

The publication in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce took place on October 5, 2022. Plan International, Inc. registered in New York (United States) is the founder of the Foundation.

The registered office of the Foundation is established at Badenerstrasse 580 in Zurich.
